Do you like poetry? Do you like Art? What if you could have both in one exhibit?

This exhibit puts the two together and calls on local artists and poets to come together and celebrate each other’s work. Poets will find a piece of art they want to write a poem about, and Artists will find a poem and create a piece of art about that poem. The two will hang side by side in the gallery for viewers to take in. This kind of poetry is called Ekphrastic and dates back to the Greece - ekphrasis.

Come and experience both the written and visual art forms in one exhibit. If you are a poet or an artist, we will hold workshops here at the MACC to inspire your creativity and teach you the art of Ekphrastic writing. We will also do an open mic night upstairs during this show.
